I was told that radiators can't be repaired. Is this true?
No. Here at Acme Radiator, we’ve been repairing radiators for 75 years and we still do!  However, on some later model cars and light trucks, the cost to repair the radiator can sometimes be more than the price to replace it. You are always welcome to ask for an estimate either way. On medium and heavy duty trucks, it’s usually much more cost-effective to repair or recore than replace, Every case is different and we’re always happy to assist you based on your specific needs.

My A/C stopped working. What will it cost to repair?
There’s no way to know that until we diagnose the cause of the issue. While there are many things that can go wrong with an air conditioning system, it would be much more expensive to guess. Please call us at 631.581.9199 to make an appointment. We will check your A/C and promptly make an accurate diagnosis.

Do you perform general repairs, such as brakes, oil changes, suspensions or engine work?
No. We specialize in cooling systems and air conditioning. We also repair leaking gas tanks and intercoolers. Because we limit what we work on, we’re able to give you unparalleled service and workmanship at a very fair price.

Do you offer towing?
We don’t have a tow truck, but we can get your vehicle towed to Acme for an additional cost to the towing company. You are also welcome to have your car towed to Acme at 49 Carleton Avenue in Islip Terrace. We highly recommend towing if your car or truck is overheating, as this can cause much more serious problems if you run it while it’s hot. If you have AAA or another roadside assistance program, we will be happy to take receipt of your car for you,

What credit cards do you take?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and AmEx. We do not accept personal checks.

I see anti-freeze under my car. Does this mean that my radiator’s leaking?
Maybe. Your radiator is part of the cooling system. There are other components to this system, such as your water pump, heater core and thermostat, as well as hoses that transfer the coolant, and more!
