What Do Charge Air Coolers Do?

Charge air coolers, aka intercoolers or abbreviated as CACs, are responsible for cooling the hot, compressed air from the turbocharger or supercharger before it enters the engine's intake manifold. This cooling process provides more oxygen for combustion, increasing the density of the intake air, thereby improving the engine‘s performance and efficiency.

A clogged intercooler results in a sluggish, inefficient turbocharger or supercharger which slows you down. It can also lead to premature engine failure, which is expensive to repair and causes significant downtime.
